Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
My music magazine ‘BASS’ is aimed
at Teenagers and young adults aged 14-26 that maybe in full time education, 6th/collage
or have an apprenticeship, part time job or
full time job. They might have hobbies like going to festival/ concerts and
going out on a Friday and Saturday after work, school etc. They would typically
spend most of their money on new clothes (Armani, Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren,
True Religion, supreme and Hugo Boss), shoes (Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Air Jordan’s)
and new technology (iPhone 6 & 6 Plus, HTC M8/M9 Samsung S6 and S6 Edge). They
will also spend a lot money putting their favorite music onto their phones. My
audience won’t have that much money that’s why I've priced the magazine at £3.99
so they only have to pay that once a month, and for the amount a content a free
stuff they get it great value for money. My magazine is aimed towards the middle/ upper class population because of the price I think the lower class population may not be able to afford it.
Evaluation Question 2
Social Group:
A social group is a collection of people who interact with each other and share similar characteristics and a sense of unity. A social category is a collection of people who do not interact but who share similar characteristics.
Stereotype
for a person who would by my magazine:
People who
like house music/EDM are often seen as wild, loud, up for anything, drink too
much, do drugs, sex, get into trouble, loud music, dancing, staying up late,
rebellious, out of control and having fun. These stereotypes are usually
negative towards people who would read my magazine.
Representation:
My magazine
is a house music/EDM, music magazine it challenges and refocuses stereotypes.
As you can see from the front cover of my magazine I have a male model in
typical partying clothes (Jeans, t-shirt and jumper/hoodie). You can’t see it
in this photo but he has a pair of Adidas trainers on. His hair is styled this
shows that he takes pride in his appearance.
Age of
Reader:
The typical
aged reader for my magazine would be anyone aged 14-26 because that the age
when you are going to house party’s or clubs or Lads/ Girls holidays. My
magazine reinforce this by showcasing young artists and young models between
these age brackets.
Gender of
Reader:
My magazine
is aimed at Males and Females because typically at parties there are boys and
girls there. This open my magazine up to more people because the bigger the
target audience the more people that are likely to read it.
